Ponder this…
God gave Moses the Ten Commandments thousands of years ago. Today, many of us don’t know them, disregard them, or believe that they are surely outdated. But unfortunately for us, God knows everything, and He knew what He was doing way back then, and for all of eternity.
So, let’s take a look at pesky little commandment number three; keep holy the Sabbath. God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh. He wants us to do the same, and we owe Him our honor and worship on this day. No slouching around. Get to Holy mass, the highest form of worship on earth.
Worshiping God is a great start for keeping holy the Sabbath, but that’s not enough. We must also refrain from unnecessary work and engage in sharing love with others on this day. Share a meal with family, visit your elderly relatives and friends, spend time in prayer, take care of your chores and work demands, the other six days of the week. God designed time. He ordered our days. He knew what He was doing. He set aside Sundays for holiness. Let’s thank him for this day and rest from our work.
